Biography

Jad Najjar is an architect, interior designer, photographer and mixed media painter. He first turned to art after he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1995. Through his paintings, pain and fear were transformed into bright colors on canvas that reflected the joy and gratitude of being alive. Inspired by his own spiritual awakening and drawing on his family’s origins in Lebanon and Cuba, a rich cultural heritage of places with great beauty and great tragedy, his works speak to redemption and triumph of the imagination and the spirit.

Jad’s artwork has been featured at the Klapper Gallery in Beverly Hills, the Loft at Liz’s Gallery in Los Angeles, and the penthouse event room at the historical Beverly Wilshire Hotel. His last solo show was curated by Hoojung Lee, owner of Art All Ways in Hancock Park. Jad was also commissioned to place art at the Aegon Mykonos Autograph Collection Marriott hotel. His art has attracted patrons nationally in California, Dallas, Aspen, and internationally inLondon, Dubai, Greece, Vancouver, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, and Beirut. Among them are Saudi Arabia’s royal prince.

Jad currently lives in Tarrytown on the Hudson River, where he is truly moved and inspired by the beauty, spirituality, and color of nature, from which he draws creative inspiration.
